Scripture for today:

Esther 3-8; Luke 18

Scripture-My special verse today:

Esther 4:12 When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, 13 he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. 14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?”

Observation: What a statement made by Mordecai to Queen Esther.  She had been promoted for a time as this to be queen to be able to make a difference in this plan to annihilate the Jews.  Esther had to go in the inner court no matter what it cost her.  The choice of saying nothing to the King was not an option.  We all seek to know our purpose and Esther knew hers this day.

Application: We all pray to be in God’s will but will respond when He tells us?  How could Esther keep quiet?  So many simply are indifferent to the Gospel today.  Their family has been committed in the past but today the new generation struggles to honor the teachings of Christ.  Esther listened to Mordecai by following his lead.  The younger generation desperately needs the older generation to lead them.  The whole story of Esther is how a young Jewish girl loses both parents and is exiled from Jerusalem to Babylon and is raised by her uncle Mordecai.  Through events of a beauty contest he guides her all the way to being Queen.

Prayer:  May I believe that I was born for such a time as this!
