Jeremiah 42: 3
Pray that the LORD your God will tell us where we should go and what we should do.”
Observation: The Israelites had no where to turn so they asked Jeremiah once again to pray for them. They pleaded that whatever the outcome of the prayer they would follow. However, when Jereiah answered them they said, “You liar.” The wanted a rubber stamp on their effort to go to Egypt but Jeremiah skoke judgement on their plans.
Application: Do I really want God’s will in my life or do I want affirmation to the path of least resistance? There is a difference. Why prayer if you do want to follow. The Christian lifestyle is not a passive one but one that is radical marked by our obediance.
Prayer: May my prayers not be to ask God to rubber stamp my plans!
