Scripture for today:

Zechariah 1-3;  Luke 11

Scripture-My special verse today:

Luke 11:23 “He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters.” 24“When an evil[h] spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ 25When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. 26Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first.”

Observation:

This verse is saying that once we accept Christ and walk with him and keep the snarls of Satan out and then return back to our old ways we are worse off.  Jesus said another way that we are either with Him or against Him.  Being hot for Christ and then being cold is called lukewarm.  Jesus said he would spit you out of his mouth for being neither hot or cold.

Application:

We are followers of Christ til the end of the race.  Christianity is a sprint but a marathon.  We are in it for the distance.  The only way to daily discipline yourself to seek his favor above all else.  There will be a constant eternal battle waged in your soul if you dare to live for Christ.

Prayer: Help to always be Hot for you!  This means keep me close and in your favor.
