Scripture for today:
Job 31-32; Galatians 5-6
Key Verses for today:
Job 31:4 Does he not see my ways and count my every step?
Galatians 6:7-10 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature[a]will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.ans
Observation: Nothing I can do that God does not know about. He knows my heart and my motives. He knows how much I love my wife and my children and how much of my tithe I honor. What I reap I do sow and cannot escape it no matter how clever I appear.
Application: We all say we like accountability but in reality we despise it. No one enjoys another telling them what they need to do with or in their life. Especially when it come to personal items like our walk with Christ. God does hold each of us accountable whether we like it or not. God does so because He loves us and desires to fill our life with His Father’s will.
Prayer: May I never be deceived to God does not my true colors.
Scripture for Today:
Job 30; Psalm 120; Galatians 3-4
Key Verse Today: Galatians 4:16
“There were some of you then who, if possible, would have given your very eyes to meāthat is how deeply you cared! And now have I suddenly become your enemy simply by telling you the truth? I can’t believe it.”
Observation: Obviously, Paul is stately the fickleness of the commitment of the some of the people at the Church at Galatia. They were once on fire for the Lord now they are mad at him because he challenges their lack of passion in their commitment to Christ.
Application: Tis is often the story of the church. People join with the best of intentions but after a season they sizzle because the faith pushes them out of their comfort zone. Even those who are in the church for a long time for some reason plateau in their walk and become experts in how the church should be run. This is painful to Christ to see Christians whose hearts no longer burn with the same passion as once before.
Prayer: May my heart always burn with the same passion as it did in Quito, Ecuador in March of 1990.
